This article provides information about supported versions of TLS for products running on Orion Platform 2016.2 (such as NPM 12.0.1 and SAM 6.3). The Orion Platform 2016.2 has added support for TLS 1.1 and 1.2, but not all products that install on Orion Platform 2016.2 support TLS 1.1 or 1.2.

  • NPM 12.0.1 and NTA 4.2.1 added support for TLS 1.1 and 1.2.
  • SAM 6.3 supports TLS 1.2, but is able to fallback to TLS 1.1 or even TLS 1.0 if the higher version is not working properly in your environment.
  • NCM 7.5 has been tested with disabled TLS 1.0, and it functions without any problems.
  • SRM currently negotiates the connection protocol in descending order: TLS 1.2, TLS 1.1, TLS 1.0 and SSL. The protocol used depends on your arrays (and the version of the array).
  • SRM / SRM Profiler integration does not support TLS 1.1 or TLS 1.2.
  • If a website being monitored requires it, you can enable TLS 1.1 and 1.2 for the WPM player. At the same time, WPM supports what the platform does, therefore if it is installed on 2016.2 it will support TLS 1.1 and 1.2.
  • IPAM and VNQM do not support TLS 1.1 and 1.2.
  • DPAIM 11.0 added support for TLS 1.1 and 1.2.
