Updated October 5th, 2016

Overview

After migrating to a new server and then upgrading to NPM 12.0.1 or any other module that uses CORE 2016.2, the Syslog and Traps services would not start and the Manage Nodes section/option in the Web Console is missing.

Products may show in Evaluation.

For Syslog, the following error message is seen in C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion\SyslogService.log.

Syslog is not supported by the currently installed products.

To enable Syslog support in Orion, you must install the Network Performance Monitor (NPM) or Application Performance Monitor (APM) modules.

For Traps, the following error message is seen in C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion\TrapService.log.

The SolarWinds Traps Service is not supported by the currently installed products.
