Syslog alert emails are not sent and but are logged

In certain cases, Syslog emails will not be sent but the events are being logged. 


NPM 12 and later


Invalid filtering in rule.


  1. Run Syslog Viewer.
  2. Open each rule where IP and hostname filtering defined, replace hostname filter with * .
  3. Save the changed rules.
  4. Restart the Syslog service to immediately apply the changed rules.
