This article provides brief information on and steps to resolve the issue when you are unable to run basic syslog queries getting timeout error.

Error on Refresh.

Query timeout expired

NPM version 10.4 or later

The issue is caused when syslog table is full and not able to run syslog queries.

  1. Reduce rows in database.
  2. Reduce amount of incoming syslogs from the devices.
  3. Stop using Syslog Viewer and use Kiwi Syslog that can handle more entries without timing out.
