Overview

This article provides information regarding possible reasons of operating system causing possible failures.

Environment

  • Windows 2003
  • Windows 2008 (non-R2 SP1)
  • Windows XP
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows 8.x (Standard Edition only)

Cause 

We have dropped support for Windows 2003, 2008 (non-R2), XP, 7, Vista, 8.x Standard edition

Resolution

1. SolarWinds prefer the following operating systems:
   • Windows 2008 R2 SP1
   • Windows 2012
   • Windows 2012 R2

2. For evaluation purposes only:
   • Windows 8.x
   • Windows 10
NOTE: The reason that this operating systems are for evaluation purposes only its because sooner or later services will fail.
