Services are unable to run with error code 10061

Overview

This article describes the issue when you experience error code 10061 upon opening the Web Console or when navigating on the website. Some of the services are suspended/stopped.

 

Environment

  • NPM version 11.5
  • SAM version 7.4

 

Cause 

This issue occurs due to blocked communication port. This happens when the client (ASP.NET) tries to call the Solarwinds service and application on the Windows Web Server machine.

 

Resolution

  •  Check the firewall and ensure that Orion port requirements are not blocked.
  • Try to temporarily turn of the firewall and see if this resolves the issue.
  • Open the command prompt and type netstat -ano to check if the required port number is active or if there are other applications that are using SolarWinds communications port.
