Overview

This article provides information about suspended queries in SQL that have no performance impact on SolarWinds Orion products.

The following is an example of a SQL query with a long running CPU time:

TEXT
session_id
status
command
cpu_time
total_elapsed_time
create procedure sys.sp_trace_getdata
(@traceid int,
  @records int = 0
)
as
select * from OpenRowset(TrcData, @traceid, @records)

Environment

All Orion Core versions

Detail

This type of query could happen with SolarWinds Orion products, including DPA. This query has 0 wait time and continuously runs without performance impact.

The following query extracts information on suspended processes:

 SELECT sqltext.TEXT,
req.session_id,
req.status,
req.command,
req.cpu_time,
req.total_elapsed_time
FROM sys.dm_exec_requests req
CROSS APPLY sys.dm_exec_sql_text(sql_handle) AS sqltext
