SQL error in Basic Alerts Manager, Syslog Viewer and Trap Viewer

ISSUE
1. Advanced Alert Manager Hangs or does not show anything for alerts.
2. Basic Alert Manager shows a sql error when opening it. (Only applies to NPM 11.x and NPM 12.x)
3. Syslog Viewer shows a SQL error when trying to open it.
4. Traps Viewer shows a SQL error when trying to open it.

 



CAUSE:
Please check if there is a space at the end of the SQL Server name.

SOLUTION

Go to following directory . 

C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion

locate the file name "SWNetPerfMon.DB"  

Open in Notepad 

 

Remove the space after DOH-SQL-CS0801  (See screen shot marked as an example )  make sure there is no space after the SQL server name . 

Once done . 

Restart all Orion services
