SNMPv3 monitored nodes are displayed as Unknown

Issue:

SNMPv3 monitored nodes are displayed as Unknown.

Cause:

Monitored nodes are displayed as Unknown because NPM's store index is broken after modifications are made. Modifications, like device changes, rebooting the device, and physical and modifications, such as blade swaps, all cause these objects to be Unknown.

Resolution:

  1. Ensure the Interface Index Persistence is enabled on the device sid for the interface(s) in question so that the interface indexes are not re-mapped. For more information contact vendor of device.
  2. To re-establish links to the indexes, click Web Console > Settings > Sonar Network Discovery
  3. If the issue still persist, select the Unknown interfaces, and then click Delete.
  4. To obtain the current indexes, click Web Console > Settings > Manage Nodes > List Resources.
