Overview

Steps to replace Job Engine version 1 and version 2.

Environment

NPM version 11 and later

Steps

1. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Services Manager

2. Stop all SolarWinds services

3. Go to JobEngine folder

  • The default location of this file on Windows Server 2008 is C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\JobEngine\Data\
  • The default location of this file on Windows Server 2003 is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\JobEngine\Data\

4. Rename JobEngine35.sdf to JobEngine35_old.sdf

5. Copy and Paste JobEngine35 - Blank.sdf  in the folder you currently are, creating JobEngine35 - Blank - Copy.sdf

6. Rename the JobEngine35 - Blank - Copy.sdf to be JobEngine35.sdf

7. Click Properties on the JobEngine35.sdf

8. De-select the Read-only option

 

9. Go to JobEnginev2 folder:

  • The default location of this file on Windows Server 2008 is C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\JobEngine.v2\Data\
  • The default location of this file on Windows Server 2003 is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\JobEngine.v2\Data\

10. Rename JobEngine35.sdf to JobEngine35_old.sdf

11. Copy and Paste JobEngine35 - Blank.sdf  in the folder you currently are, creating JobEngine35 - Blank - Copy.sdf

12. Rename the JobEngine35 - Blank - Copy.sdf to be JobEngine35.sdf

13. Click Properties on the JobEngine35.sdf

14. De-select the Read-only option​​​​​​​​​​​

15. Go back to Orion Services Manager and Start all Solarwinds Services
