Overview

Learn how to remove the Telnet and/or HTTP link under the Node Details resource.

Environment

NPM 10.3 and above.

Steps

To do this:

  1. On the NPM server, go to C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\NetPerfMon\Resources\NodeDetails directory.
  2. Make a backup copy of the NodeDetails.ascx file on a different directory.
  3. Open the NodeDetails.ascx file via Notepad and remove the following lines:

    <td class="Property"><a href="telnet://
reference to undefined name 'HrefIPAddress' Exception of type 'MindTouch.Deki.Script.Runtime.DekiScriptUndefinedNameException' was thrown. (click for details)
    ">telnet://
reference to undefined name 'HrefIPAddress' Exception of type 'MindTouch.Deki.Script.Runtime.DekiScriptUndefinedNameException' was thrown. (click for details)
    </a></td>

    <td class="Property"><a href="http://
reference to undefined name 'HrefIPAddress' Exception of type 'MindTouch.Deki.Script.Runtime.DekiScriptUndefinedNameException' was thrown. (click for details)
    ">http://
reference to undefined name 'HrefIPAddress' Exception of type 'MindTouch.Deki.Script.Runtime.DekiScriptUndefinedNameException' was thrown. (click for details)
    </a></td>

  4. Save the changes, then restart all Orion services using Orion Service Manager by clicking Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features.
  5. Go to the Node Details page on your Orion Web Console and check the Node Details Resource.

The Telnet and the Web Browse fields remains, but the links should be no longer present.
