Reinstall MSMQ

This article describes how to reinstall MSMQ due to its corrupted components that causes the service not to start.


All NPM versions


  1. Uninstall MSMQ through Control Panel > Features and Programs.
  2. Install Message Queuing 4.0 on Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
    a. In Server Manager, click Features.
    b. In the right-hand pane under Features Summary, click Add Features.
    c. In the resulting window, expand Message Queuing.
    d. Expand Message Queuing Services.
    e. Click Directory Services Integration (for computers joined to a Domain), then click HTTP Support.
    f. Click Next, then click Install.
