RabbitMQ is installed but the service is missing

Updated September 6, 2016

Overview

RabbitMQ is installed but the service is missing.

Environment

NPM version 12

Cause

RabbitMQ service was already registered in Erlang registry

Resolution

On the Orion server,

1. Run the following command, and then install:

C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\RabbitMQ\sbin\rabbitmq-service.bat install

Note:

If the output shows something like the following:
RABBITMQ_SERVICENAME!

It means that service already exists - only updating service parameters

2. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ericsson\Erlang\ErlSrv\1.1\RabbitMQ
 and remove this key.

3. Re-run the following command again:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\RabbitMQ\sbin\rabbitmq-service.bat
