RabbitMQ failure during startup

Updated July 21, 2017

RabbitMQ fails to start with errors similar to the following:

Error: {badmatch,
         [{rabbit_queue_index,journal_minus_segment1, ...

NPM 12.X

RabbitMQ is unable to parse the database because of a bad queue.

  1. Stop the RabbitMQ service.
  2. Go to C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Orion\RabbitMQ\db\.
  3. Create a backup in a separate location.
  4. Delete the queues and the following directories:
    • Mnesia
    • msg_store_transient
  5. Restart the RabbitMQ service.
