Partition tables are not getting created in NPM

Overview

This article describes a rare issue that may occur where the statistic details tables do not get created, e.g. InterfaceErrors_Detail09012015

Symptoms:

  • Statistic data not being collected, graphs are showing blank after some certain date
  • Partition tables are only showing a date range of some time in the past
  • No statistic information being collected

Environment

  • NPM 11.5.2+, Core 2015.2+

Cause

This can be caused by the database server time not being in sync with the Orion server.

Resolution

  1. Ensure the database server system time is in sync with the Orion server, and both in synch with a network time source.
  2. After the next database maintenance is run (either manually or automatically), the partition tables should update properly and the Collector should begin collecting statistic data.
