Overview

PDF files are not included in scheduled report emails in NPM and the following error appears in the ActionExecution.log file:

2015-10-17 10:44:27,383 [10] ERROR SolarWinds.Orion.Core.Actions.Utility.WebPageFetcher - FAIL: EO.Pdf.HtmlToPdfException: Failed to convert Url 'https://Servername:443/Orion/Report....82d3'.(404:The server has not found anything matching the requested URI (Uniform Resource Identifier).

Environment

All NPM versions

Resolution

  1. Verify if this is a website binding issue:
    1. Visit the URL in the error message using a browser to verify if it is working.
    2. If the URL is valid, go to the Orion server and visit the URL using Internet Explorer and verify if a 404 Error appears.
  2. Refer to Add or Edit Site Binding Dialog Box and edit binding settings to reflect the following value:
    • IP address: All Unassigned
  3. Repeat Step 1a to verify that the error no longer appears.

The PDF file should now be included in the scheduled report email.

Also: make sure the reply email is an email @Customer'sCompanyName. To stay noreply@solarwinds.com may not work

Cause

This is an error returned by the Web server, not by the HTML to PDF converter and is caused by website bindings in IIS.
