Orion Web Console Information Service error

Overview

This article explains what to do when you see an Information Service error when trying to access the Orion Web Console.

Environment

NPM 11.5.3 and earlier

Cause 

There are pending notifications and subscriptions in the the Information Service logs.

Resolution

  1. Shutdown and stop all services in the Orion Service Manager.
  2. Go to Database Manager < Add Default Server.
  3. Expand your database and double click PendingNotifications.
  4. Remove the "SELECT TOP 1000 * " part of the query and replace it with "Delete" then execute the query.
  5. Double-click Subscriptions.
  6. Remove the "SELECT TOP 1000 * " part of the query and replace it with "Delete" then execute the query
  7. Double-click SubscriptionTags.
  8. Remove the "SELECT TOP 1000 * " part of the query and replace it with "Delete" then then execute the query.
  9. Go back to Service Manager and start everything.
  10. When all services are up and running go to your Orion Web Console to confirm the issue has been resolved.
