Overview

This article addresses the issue where the following error appears when selecting a view:

Unexpected Website Error

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Environment

NPM 11.5.x and Newer

Cause

This occurs when a resource on the Summary Page view has become corrupted or is broken due to a change.

Resolution

  1. On the Orion Web Console, go to Administrator Settings > Manage Views.
  2. Double-click the Orion Summary Home view (or the view that is broken).
  3. Remove resources one by one until you find which one is broken by going in and out of the preview option.
  4. Once you identify the broken resource, click Done.

Note: If you're unable to access the Settings page, recreate the web console.
