The following error message is also found in SolarwindsDiagnostics.zip\Collector\Logs\Plugins\DataProcessor_SolarWinds.Interfaces.SNMP.log:

System.InvalidOperationException: There was an error generating the XML document. ---> System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Inbps

Parameter name: name

Environment

  • NPM 11.5.3

  • SAM 6.2.2

  • NCM 7.4

  • NTA 4.1

  • IPAM 4.3

  • 7 Pollers

  • 15000 Elements BUT at 5 minutes

Cause

Previously encountered issues saw gaps in data because the polled utilization is over 100% and such polls are skipped by default.

Found the ValidateCounters key with a TRUE value. For errors found, the value should be set to FALSE.

Resolution

  1. Open C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Interfaces\Solarwinds.Interfaces.Collector.dll.config in a text editor.
  2. Change the value for  the ValidateCounters key to False:
    <add key="ValidateCounters" value="True" />
    to
    <add key="ValidateCounters" value="False" />
  3. Restart services.
  4. Repeat the steps on additional pollers.
