Network Insight for ASA views not available after upgrade to NPM 12.2

Updated: September 13, 2017

Overview

After upgrading to NPM 12.2, the new Network Insight for ASA views are not available.

Environment

  • NPM 12.2 and later

Cause

Before the upgrade to NPM 12.2 you have customized views for ASA models. The upgrade process cannot replace customized views by the new views provided by the new Network Insight for Cisco ASA devices feature.

Resolution

To see the Network Insight for Cisco ASA for devices with customized views, specify Node Details for ASA - Summary as the View device type for the devices:

Set Network Insight for Cisco ASA views for a single ASA device

  1. On the Node Details view, click Edit Node.
  2. In the View Type drop-down, select Node Details for ASA - Summary.
  3. Click Submit.

When you click the node, the Node Details for ASA - Summary view opens. For NPM 12.2, it includes Summary, Platform, Interfaces, Site-to-Site VPN, and Remote Access subviews. If you have NCM 7.7 installed, the view includes the Access Lists and Configs subviews.

Set Network Insight for Cisco ASA views for multiple ASA devices

  1. In the Orion Web Console, click Settings > Manage Nodes.
  2. Select the ASA nodes to display Network Insight for ASA views by default.
  3. Click Edit node, and select Node Details for ASA - Summary as the View Type
  4. Click Submit.

When you click one of the selected nodes, the Node Details for ASA - Summary view opens. For NPM 12.2, it includes Summary, Platform, Interfaces, Site-to-Site VPN, and Remote Access subviews. If you have NCM 7.7 installed, the view includes the Access Lists and Configs subviews.

See Network Insight for Cisco ASA views for all Cisco ASA devices based on the ASA model

Set the Node Details for ASA - Summary as the default view for specified models of your ASA devices:

  1. In the Orion Web Console, click Settings > All Settings, and click Views by Device Type in the Views grouping.
  2. Select Node Details for ASA - Summary for each ASA model to open Network Insight for ASA views by default.
  3. Click Submit.

When you click an ASA node of the specified type, the Node Details for ASA - Summary view opens. For NPM 12.2, it includes Summary, Platform, Interfaces, Site-to-Site VPN, and Remote Access subviews. If you have NCM 7.7 installed, the view includes the Access Lists and Configs subviews.
