Network Atlas error: Map could not be deleted

This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the following error when editing or deleting a Map in Network Atlas:

Map could not be deleted, it is in use by xxx computer

The issue is caused when there is incorrect data in the database.


1. Create a backup of the Orion Database. See How to backup DB using SQL server management Studio.

2. Connect to your database using Database Manager or SQL Server Management Studio.

3. Right-click on your Orion database > New Query ...

4. Enter the Query below in the Query Editor window:

UPDATE MapStudioFiles SET LockUser= NULL
UPDATE MapStudioFiles SET LockDate= NULL
UPDATE MapStudioFiles SET ComputerName= NULL

5. Click Execute.
