Fixed issues

This hotfix addresses the following issue:

  • The Network Atlas map is loading slowly or does not complete loading.
  • Maps and nested maps are updated but the updates do not reflect in the web console.

Environment

This hotfix is included Orion Platform 2017.1 Hotfix 1

Apply this hotfix if you run Network Atlas 1.16 connected to the following Orion Platform products:

  • NPM 12.1
  • SAM 6.4
  • NCM 7.6
  • SRM 6.4
  • PaM 2.1.4
  • VNQM 4.4
  • VIM 7.1

Notes

  • Do not install this hotfix if you have installed Orion Platform 2017.1 Hotfix 1
  • This hotfix requires SolarWinds Orion Network Atlas 1.16.20.
  • This hotfix can be installed on any machine where SolarWinds Orion Network Atlas 1.16.20 is installed.

Install the hotfix

Dowload the hotfix from http://downloads.solarwinds.com/solarwinds/Release/HotFix/Orion-NetworkAtlas-v1.16-HotFix1.zip

  1. Use an administrator account to log in to the machine where SolarWinds Orion Network Atlas is installed.
  2. Run the SolarWinds-Orion-NetworkAtlas-v1.16-HotFix1.exe file, and complete the steps in the installation wizard.
  3. Copy following assemblies from the Network Atlas install folder to C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\bin.
    • SolarWinds.MapEngine.dll
    • SolarWinds.MapStudio.Common.dll
    • SolarWinds.MapStudio.Strings.dll
    • SolarWinds.MapStudio.Web.dll

The hotfix is now installed and the Network Atlas map does not load slowly or timeout.

Install the hotfix with SolarWinds HA

If your product is using Orion Platform 2016.2 or later, use these instructions to install the hotfix with SolarWinds HA.

Important: The HA pool must be disabled to begin installation. If you install prior to disabling, the pool is automatically disabled.

  1. In the Orion Web Console, click Settings > All Settings > High Availability Deployment Summary.
  2. Select the pool you want to disable.
  3. Toggle High Availability to Off.
  4. Install the hotfix on the primary server in the pool.
  5. Install the hotfix on the secondary server in the pool.
  6. In the Orion Web Console, click Settings > All Settings > High Availability Deployment Summary.
  7. Select the pool you want to enable and toggle High Availability to On.

The Orion Web Console verifies all SolarWinds product versions match across the HA pair before enabling. If you receive errors, check your product versions.

You may need to recreate the HA pool. For details, see Set up an HA pool.

Uninstall the hotfix

  1. Use an administrator account to log in to the machine where SolarWinds Orion Network Atlas is installed.
  2. Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > View installed updates.
  3. Select Update for SolarWinds Orion Netwrok Atlas v1.16.0 (B39), click Uninstall, and complete the uninstallation wizard.
