Updated March 10, 2017

Overview

NetPath works for everything just fine on the inside of your network but stops at the firewall.

Environment

  • NPM 12
  • Sonicwall E-Class Firewall

Cause

If NAT not being turned on, Decrement IP TTL for forwarded traffic is unchecked and port 11 being blocked.

Resolution

  1. Go Firewall Settings > Advanced.  Make sure 'Decrement IP TTL for forwarded traffic' is selected.
  2. Setting a NAT (with reflexive) is a must.
  3. Set port 11 as allowed is necessary.
