A number of Syslog events is visible stating that the device is still receiving failed SNMP authentication requests.

The other devices in the network with the same IP Address making SNMP requests, which creates an error state.


  1. Ran WireShark on the Orion server.
  2. Verify that there is no SNMP data from the Orion server going to the unmanaged devices.
    1. Open Wireshark.
    2. Click Capture on the tool bar and select Interfaces.
    3. Click Option for the interface used to poll your devices.
    4. In the capture filter type the following: host %ip_address% && udp port 161
    5. Replace the %ip_address% by the ip address of your router which is having issues. For example, host and udp port 16.1
    6. Click Start to launch the capture.
    7. Verify that there are no packets appearing in the capture.
  3. Check if there is another server on the network with the same IP address.
  4. Verify if migration is done in the past and never shutdown the old server.
