The following error occurs while logging in to the NPM Web Console:

Unexpected website error. One or more errors occurred

The following errors are found in the OrionWeb.log files:

  • Unhandled Exception:  Path to C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\W3SVC2 Access Denied
  • Unhandled Exception:  Path to C:\inetpub\temp\IIS Temporary Compressed Files Access Denied

All NPM versions

The issue is caused when IIS worker process does not have access to some directories in the Drive:\Inetpub directory.

  1. Give elevated permissions to the paths mentioned in the OrionWeb.log errors.
Note: Everyone can be used as a test and assigned full control.
  2. Verify that all subfolders have inherited permissions enabled or the same error will appear in the logs.
  3. Reset IIS by launching the command prompt running as administrator and issuing the iisreset command.
