NPM Configuration wizard fails with Unable to delete file

Overview

 

During a run of configuration wizard you get an error. Website configuration failed:

  • Unable to delete file.

 

 

Checking the configurationwizard.log file located under C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion\

 

You can see this error:

 

ERROR ConfigurationProgressScene - Exception while configuring plugins.

Environment

  • NPM All versions

 

Cause 

3rd Party Software conflicts.

 

Resolution

  1. To solve this issue, disable the services for any running antivirus or monitoring software like McAfee Move AV or Microsoft Monitoring agent.
  2. Re-run the configuration wizard and tick all 3 boxes.
