Fixed issues

This hotfix addresses the following NetPath issues. NetPath is a part of SolarWinds NPM 12.0.

  • High latency measurement issues, typically at hop 1
  • Probing exceptions caused by invalid packets
  • Configuration data are displayed to users without NCM roles

Install the hotfix on the main polling engine and all additional polling engines.

Installation instructions

Download the hotfix from https://customerportal.solarwinds.com/HotFixes.

  1. Log in as an administrator to the server hosting the SolarWinds NPM installation.
  2. Extract the hotfix archive, and run SolarWinds-NetPath-v1.0-HF2.exe.
  3. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.
  4. Complete the Configuration Wizard. 

    If the wizard does not launch automatically, run the Configuration Wizard in the SolarWinds Orion > Configuration and Auto-Discovery program folder.

  5. If you are using agents as probes, restart the agent service on the remote computer manually.
  6. Wait for the plugin to update. This may take up to five minutes.
  7. In the Orion Web Console, click Settings > All Settings.
  8. Click Manage Agents in the Node & Group Management grouping.
  9. Select the agent, and click More Actions > View installed agent plugins. 
  10. Verify the NetPath Agent Plugin version is 1.0.30223.0.
  11. Log in to the remote computer with the agent installed, and restart the SolarWinds Agent Service. You can do this in the Orion Service Manager.

Unistallation instructions

  1. Log in as an administrator to the server hosting the SolarWinds NPM installation.
  2. Open Programs and Features in the Control Panel.
  3. Click View installed updates.
  4. Right-click Update for SolarWinds Orion NetPath v1 (HF2), and click Uninstall.
  5. Complete the uninstallation.
  6. Complete the Configuration Wizard. 

    If the wizard does not launch automatically, run the Configuration Wizard in the SolarWinds Orion > Configuration and Auto-Discovery program folder.
