Motorola AP7181 not reporting interface statistics

Overview

A Motorola AP7181 device added in NPM is not reporting interface statistics data.

Environment

NPM 11.5.2 (may occur in other NPM versions)

Cause 

The device does not respond correctly to SNMPv2 GetBulk requests. If a UnDP poller is set up against a device for ifIn or ifOut octets used for calculating interface bandwidth, the value 'No MIB Available' or 'MIB Available' may be returned. For more information, see the following:

Resolution

  1. In the Orion Web Console, go to Settings > Manage Nodes.
  2. Select the node and click Edit Properties.
  3. Change the device SNMP version to SNMPv1 and click Submit. 

The MIB Available message is shown after the next poll period.

To resolve similar issues with other types or models of a device, a consultation with the device vendor is required.
