Overview

The following message appears when adding a node:

Maximum number of licensed elements has been exceeded.

The license is active and correct in the portal, number of elements on the environment is less then the license. So the license is correct.

Cause 

Migration steps were not followed correctly. Particular attention must be paid to step 7:

Migrate SolarWinds products to a new server with a new IP and hostname

Resolution

  1. Follow the steps in the KB above. 
  2. Check OrionServer table and ensure the correct server is in there.
  3. Delete incorrect servers as necessary, for example a previous old SolarWinds server.
