List Resources is not working in NPM 12.0.1

Adding a node or performing the List Resources action does not complete or refresh.


NPM version 12.0.1


One of the DLL files is corrupted. The CoreBussinessLayer.log displays an error similar to the following:

2016-11-17 12:44:51,494 [130] ERROR SolarWinds.Orion.Core.Common.MessageUtilities - (null)  Exception caught in method ProvideFault

System.BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly 'SolarWinds.Orion.Discovery.Job, Version=2016.2.5300.959, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest.


  1. In the Orion NPM server, access Orion Service Manager by going to Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features.

  2. Click Shutdown Everything to stop all services.

  3. Go to C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Installers.

    Note: ProgramData is a hidden folder. Verify that the Show hidden files, folders, and drives option is enabled in Folder Options.

  4.  Right-click CoreInstaller.msi and select Repair.

    This automatically launches the configuration wizard.
