Overview

This article briefly discusses the test function of legacy alerts.

Environment

Any system using Orion Core 2014.x or lower (systems where alerts are edited via the Advanced Alerts app on the Orion server instead of the Web)

Detail

Legacy alerts have a test function, but it is not reliable for any purpose but confirming the action works in and of itself and the information in the message generated may or may not be accurate.

In these cases, customers are recommended to upgrade to the latest Orion Core to use the new alerts, which have the more accurate simulation feature that will use current stats.
