New SolarWinds NPM Features and Improvements

This version of SolarWinds NPM includes the following features:

  • Device Studio
    • Build new CPU / Memory pollers from scratch or modify existing pollers
    • Add monitoring support for devices that are not already natively supported
    • Use Import/Export feature to share pollers with the Thwack community
  • Routing Improvements
    • Now supporting EIGRP/OSPFv3
    • Routing resources now support VRFs and the display of multiple route tables.
  • Support for Ruckus and Motorola Wireless Access Points
    • Native support for most Ruckus and Motorola wireless access points (APs) and wireless LAN controllers (WLCs)
  • VLAN Polling
    • New VLAN resources and data on Interface Details views

New Orion Platform Features and Improvements

This version of the Orion Platform includes the following features:

  • Web-based Report Scheduler
    • Report scheduling is now featured in the web console.
    • Email, print or save reports on a scheduled basis.
    • Send reports using SSL with Office365.
  • Map Improvements
    • Link utilization and speed are available as connection options
    • Significant improvements to "ConnectNow" topology mapping
  • Independent and Dynamic Thresholds
    • Independently set Critical and Warning thresholds for most node and interface statistics
    • Dynamically recalculate thresholds based on historical trends
  • Drag and Drop Resources
    • Dynamically position and re-size resources and columns in the web console
  • Custom Table and Chart Resources
    • Create custom table and chart resources for inclusion in views and web-based reports
  • Network Operations Console (NOC) View
    • Configure any existing view as a rotating NOC view optimized for large displays
  • SNMP Status Polling
    • ICMP polling is no longer required to determine Up/Down status
