Overview

This article details an issue that occurs when a server reboot is done on a primary SolarWinds application server, but the Orion website is not restarting in IIS.

Environment

  • NPM v11.5
  • NPM v11.5.2

Cause

IIS is crashing and the Orion website is unavailable.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, complete the following:

  1. Check to see if IIS has started. The website won't work if it is stopped.
  2. Restart IIS from either from IIS manager or from a command prompt using the IISRESET command
  3. See if you can reach the Orion web console from the server using localhost
  4. Review the database settings in the websites table.
  5. Confirm all IIS bindings are correct.
