Volumes not polling after changing polling method

Overview

Volumes are not polling after changing the polling method from SNMP to agent polling.

Environment

All NPM versions

Cause 

This occurs when the polling method is not changed in the pollers table.

Resolution

  1. Go to Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Database Manager.
  2. Click Add Default Server and expand the NPM database (default) SolarWindsOrion.
  3. Select and right-click the Settings table, and then select Query Table.
  4. Run the following query to identify all nodes using the SNMP polling method for volumes:
    select caption from nodesdata where nodeid in (SELECT nodeid FROM [dbo].[volumes] where volumeid in (select netobjectid from [dbo].[pollers] where netobjecttype = 'v' and pollertype like '%snmp%'))
    
  5. In the Orion Web Console, go to Settings > Manage Nodes.
  6. Search for each node from the query result.
  7. Expand the node and delete the volumes.
  8. List the resource on the node and re-add the volumes.

The WMI agent poller is now assigned.
