Volume index remapping events are flooding the Web Console after upgrading the F5 firmware

Overview

After upgrading the F5 firmware, you may notice a flooding of VolumeIndexRemapping events in the Orion Web Console.

Environment

  • NPM 12.0.1
  • F5

Resolution

To stop the flooding of these event in Orion Web Console, you can do the following:

Solution 1:

  1. Stop the volumes from being monitored by deleting them from Orion Web Console > Manage Node > Select the node and Edit.
  2. This will show the volumes attached to this node.
  3. Select them and click on delete at the top right.

Note: This will delete all the volumes from being monitored by Orion.

 

Solution 2:

  1. From the NPM server, open Orion Database Manager.
  2. Run the following query:
    Select * from dbo.events
  3. Identify the event type for volumeindexremap.
  4. Run the following query
    Select * from dbo.eventtypes
  5. Deselect the event corresponding to the volumeindexremap eventID.
