Overview

Completing the Orion Configuration Wizard

The configuration wizard has failed

Database configuration failed:

Error while executing script- Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_UDT_PortToEndPointCounts'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.UDT_PortToEndpointCounts'. The duplicate key value is (327336).

The statement has been terminated.

Environment

  • NPM 12
  • UDT 3.x.x

Resolution

Solution 1:

As a workaround, empty the script in UDT installation directory:

  1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\UDT\UDTDatabaseScheme.dbConfig and create a backup of the file in your desktop.
  2. Edit the original file by by selecting all and deleting the whole content. Save.
  3. Configuration Wizard will bypass UDT.
  4. Upgrade UDT 3.2.4 which will replace the the same file(UDTDatabaseScheme.dbConfig).

Solution 2:

  1. Make sure that customer has a backup of the database.
  2. Log in to SQL Database server.
  3. Delete the PK_UDT_PortToEndPointCounts under index folder inside dbo.PortToEndPointCounts using SQL Server Management Studio.
  4. Run Configuration Wizard.
