Use Custom properties when sending email alerts

Overview

This article describes how to use the Node Custom properties when sending email alerts to certain locations or to the team responsible for the node or group.

Steps

  1. Create a custom property.

    a. Go to Settings > Manage Custom Properties.

    b. Click Add Custom Property.

    c. Provide a Property Name.

    d. Leave the Assign value for "email" to selected Nodes.

  2. Assign an email address to the Node/s.

    a. Go to Settings > Manage Nodes.
    b. Select the Node/s to be edited and click Edit Properties.

    c. Select the email box and assign an email address to the corresponding field.

    d. Click Submit to save the changes.

  3. Use the Custom Property Name under Alert Trigger Condition to send the email alert for each node.

    a. Select the alert to be edited.
        Go to Webpage > Alerts > Manage Alerts and then select the alert to be edited.

       b. Go to Edit Trigger Action > Send an Email/Page and add a Trigger Action - ${email}.

      c. Once the alert triggers, it will use the email address that was previously assigned to the Node.
          Note: Adding CC (
${email}) to the Trigger Action is also an option as shown in the following screenshot.

More  variable example can be used as below

E.g

${N=SwisEntity;M=Application.Node.CustomProperties.email}
