Overview

When attempting to edit or click some nodes in your environment, you receive the message Unexpected Website error. You also see that one additional polling engine is down.

Environment

NPM 11.0.1

Cause

This issue occurs because the nodes are polled by the additional engine that is down. Without communication to the additional polling engine, it fails to edit the properties.

Resolution

  1. Verify the communication between the Orion server and the polling engine. Check if it is responsive to:
    • Ping
    • RDP
  2. If it is a VM, use the vsphere client to console to the Engine. Verify if it is responsive.
  3. If the Engine is not responsive, consult your System Administrator or Team Lead regarding the issue.
