Unable to retrieve url: using HTML type


This article provides solution to the below error seen in an email while scheduling reports to be delivered in HTML format:

Unable to retrieve url: https://SERVERNAME:PORT/Orion/Report.aspx?ReportID=123 using HTML type


Orion Platform 2016.2 and earlier


Some website settings have been changed and the website name in the URL is no longer correct causing the report to not come through.


Complete the following steps from the main Orion server.  

  1. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Database Manager.
  2. If your Orion database is not listed in the left pane, complete the following steps:
    1. Click Add SQL Server.
    2. Using the format Server/Instance, select or provide the SQL Server instance you are using as your Orion database.
    3. Select the appropriate login method, providing credentials as required, and then click Connect to Database Server.
  3. Expand your Orion database in the left pane.
  4. Right-click the Websites table, and then click Query Table.
  5. Ensure that the ServerName and Port are entered correctly in the Websites table in the Orion database.  If not, move on to step 6.
  6. Click Enable table editing above the Websites table results.
  7. Select the cell that contains the ServerName and/or Port you need to modify.  
  8. Click Enable table editing when you are finished.  
  9. Click Execute query and verify that your changes were completed without error.  
  10. Ensure that the URL showing in error can be accessed (for example, copy and past into web browser).
