This article describes how to disable NetBios traffic from the Windows server. You might have a large amount of NetBios traffic generated from the NPM/NTA server which also affect the firewall.
This is attributed to NetBIOS and is due to the behavior of Windows servers that use NetBIOS (as well as DNS) to resolve IP addresses to names using the gethostbyaddr() function.
Disable the NetBios Over TCP/IP protocol on the interface and use the LMHOSTS file for the servers that need to be resolved using NB names.
DNS Audit uses the Windows resolver. To disable Netbios lookups, use the TCP settings in Windows networking to Disable Netbios over TCP/IP.
