The SSH session connects to a different computer after you change the node's IP address

Updated March 14, 2017

Overview

If you change the IP address of a node you monitor with an agent, you cannot open a SSH connection to that node through the Orion Web Console. The Orion Web Console's web-based SSH client opens an SSH connection to the original IP address instead of the new IP address.

Environment

  • Any node polled with an agent

Cause

The polling IP address may not update automatically when you change the nod's IP address.

Resolution

  1. Edit the node's properties.
  2. Update the Polling IP Address to the correct IP address.
  3. Click Submit.

The Orion Web Console's web-based SSH client can now open a connection to the correct computer.
