This article addresses the issue where simulating a custom poller table alert does not provide a list of objects that the alert can be tested against.

NPM 11.5.3

The Simulate function does not show up for Custom Poller Table Value, because there are no labels defined.

When we select objects for the Simulate dialog, it is ordered by Labels and the TOP 300 are selected, so the NULLs are selected and nothing is displayed.

Execute the following:

SELECT UniqueName FROM CustomPollers WHERE PollerType<>'F' AND SNMPGetType='GetSubTree' AND LabelType is null
Make the appropriate updates to the Universal Device Pollers:

  1. Log in to the Orion server (RDP).
  2. Run the Universal Device Poller.
  3. In the ALL DEFINED POLLERS pane (bottom left), right-click and select Label on each poller that is shown in the SQL query ran before.
  4. Configure the label for each of the affected pollers.
  5. Click Finish.
