Overview

The following error message appears when trying to login to the Web Console.

Server Error in '/' Application.

The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Environment

NPM v11.x

Resolution

  1. Login to your Main Orion system using a local Administrator account.
    Note: Do NOT use a Domain Admin account to avoid GPOs and any other potential permission issues.
  2. Go to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\ and open the HOST file in a text file editor such as Notepad.
  3. Take the # sign before the 127.0.0.1.
  4. Add the IP address and <hostname>.
  5. Add the IP address and <hostname>.DN (in another words, add the FQDN).
  6. Open IIS Manager.
  7. Edit Bindings and change the IP section to All Unassigned.
  8. Open a command prompt.
  9. Type the following:
    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /registerdns
    iisreset
  10. Login to the Web Console after 5 minutes.
