Remove stale interfaces from the database

When no data is polled for an interface for a specified time, this interface is considered to be "stale". You can configure Orion Platform to delete the interface and all data connected with it. Stale interfaces are deleted one hour before the scheduled maintenance.

Deleting stale interfaces saves space in the database, improves the polling performance, and saves interface elements in your database.

  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console using an account with administrator privileges.
  2. Click Settings > All Settings and click Polling Settings.
  3. Select the Delete stale interfaces box, and specify how long stale interfaces should be kept in the database (Stale interface retention).
  4. Restart the Business Layer.

    If you change the settings for removing stale interfaces, or if you change the DB Maintenance start time, you need to restart the Business Layer.

Stale interfaces will regularly be deleted according to your settings.
