Polling engine is up but is not polling

The polling engine (either primary or APE) is showing as green but is timing out during polling or rediscovery.

The logs do not show any errors.


All NPM versions


  1. Open Database Manager.
  2. Open the All Engines table.
  3. Verify that the engine is using the correct IP address.
  4. If incorrect, verify that there are two network interface cards (NICs).
  5. Change the IP address to the correct network adapter following the steps in the Unable to change the IP address of NPM server in a multi-network environment article.
