Poll by node host name and not through IP address

In some cases, a customer environment may not allow connections via IP and will insist on seeing polls come from a host name. You can set nodes to use DHCP and that will cause them to prefer host name polling even if they are in actuality set to use static IP.


Any Orion node in all Orion Platform modules


1. Open Orion and go to the node details page for the node that must poll by a host name.

2.  Click edit node.

3.  On the upper part, check use DHCP and supply the requested information in the section that shows up.

4.  Click Submit.
