NPM 12 upgrade error: Cannot Execute Program

Overview

This article provides steps to resolve the following error when upgrading to NPM version 12:

Unexpected Website Error

Cannot  execute a program

Environment

NPM 12

 

Cause 

The error is caused when permissions used to install the software do not have the rights to apply the correct permissions. 

 

Resolution

  1. Log in as a local administrator.
  2. Right-click > Run as administrator.
