NPM 12.01 Node Details Page SSH Client Not Working With Credentials Containing Periods

Overview

When using the web-based SSH client functionality, (introduced in NPM 12.0.1 and SAM 6.3), it is not possible to enter any periods (.) in either the Username or Password while using Internet Explorer 11, Edge or Chrome will work with FireFox. 

 

You will get the following error: Authentication with the server failed

  • Core 2016.2
  • Chrome
  • Edge
  • Internet Explorer 11

Cause 

This is a bug in the product.

Resolution

This is marked to be fixed in a future release of the product.

In the meantime, Mozilla Firefox can be utilized as a workaround as it doesn't face the same issue.
