Missing routing neighbors in Routing Neighbor resource view with the message An item with the same key has already been added

Updated 15th Sept 17

Overview

The Routing Neighbors widget displays the following message:

An item with the same key has already been added.

  • The Routing Neighbors interface is selected and monitored under List Resources.
  • The Routing Neighbors table in Orion Database Manager contains 9 neighbors for this router.
  • Running an SNMP walk on the device shows 8 neighbors for this router.

Environment

  • NPM 12.x

Cause

It is possible that this issue is caused by duplicate nodes affecting the routing table and there are several ones on the system.  The cause maybe duplicate nodes for NodeID xyz.

Resolution

Execute the following query to help identify the duplicate ones.

SELECT ObjectSubType, IP_Address, IP_Address_Type, Caption, Vendor, EngineID
FROM Nodes
WHERE IP_Address IN (SELECT IP_Address FROM Nodes GROUP BY IP_Address HAVING COUNT(*) >1) \
ORDER BY IP_Address

If duplicate nodes are found, you can start cleaning the duplicate nodes on the system.

If possible there is also some bad data in one of the tables below. So if the issue persists, then contact SolarWinds Support after several polling cycles if the routing table for NodeID xyz is showing properly now.

Open NPM_RoutingTable in SQL Management Studio or Orion DB Manager, run the following statements, and export the results to a CSV file.

Select * from NPM_RoutingTable

Select * from NPM_RoutingTable_Flap
