Min/Max/Average bps In/Out sample interval for one minute displays dots in the chart

Updated August 15, 2016

Overview

This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the issue when viewing the Min or Max and Average bps In or Out charts in the Interface Details view for a sample interval set for one minute displays dots in the chart.

Environment

All NPM versions

Cause

The interface polling statistics is set to 9 minutes by default. When setting this to one minute sample interval on the chart it is not possible to display this data if it is only collected every 9 minutes.

Resolution

1. Go to the Interface Details page for the target port.

2. Set the Collect Statistics to 1 minute.

3. Click submit and allow polling to collect data so data going forward will display in one minute intervals.

Note: This will increase data in the database and will affect performance. Setting this to all interfaces is not recommended, but make sure the servers have enough resources to handle the load.
